We had a project in our Media class before where our group was allowed to take up the topic of vampires. We observed that in the earlier films such as Nosferatu (1922), vampires were portrayed as hideous, scary, and outright monstrous. We observed that the line between monstrosity and humanity started thinning when the film industry decided to portray them as "charming, elegant, and sexy". This is evident in the film Twilight (2008). People started obsessing over vampires and their existence. Personally, I find this obsession quite unhealthy as recently, there had been claims of vampire-like lifestyles from different parts of the world.
